For some reason South Florida DJs aren’t falling over themselves to give El Snappo’s new mixtape Zootieee Wrld the fast music treatment. In my mind, the Lauderhill rapper’s Cash Money-indebted funk and slurred delivery is the exact kind of Florida rap that sounds best in turbo mode with all the fixings. I had to settle for DJ Rawhh’s straightforward fast remix of “Fuck Yo Baby Daddy,” which has none of the tags, stop-start effects, and unexpected pitch shifts that make DJ Frisco and DJ Fetti Fee remixes the gold standard. But the simplicity of the edit doesn’t matter a whole lot because the song was just made to be listened to fast: the extra speed makes the thick bassline and jingling cowbell turn hypnotic. This version does mash the lyrics up a bit, but he’s rapping stuff like “Baby give me that hawk tuah every time you suck me” so you’re not missing much anyway.
